About

British Athletics League

The British Athletics League is a track and field competition featuring 33 teams from athletics clubs across five divisions, namely the Premiership and Divisions 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Teams feature in matches and pick up points based on their performances across each discipline. These points are added together to determine relegations, promotions and champions.

In terms of its history, the League was founded in 1969, meaning it celebrates 50 years of involvement on British track and field in 2019.

The competition has played an important role in developing not only athletic talent, but coaches, officials, and a system for drug testing in the United Kingdom.
